A wellness exam is critical to preventive health prodecures and diagnostic care for a pet.
A disease or problem can be discovered by early detection and can often be prevented or cured
before it's to late. At least once a year, your pet should have a complete physical examination.
A comprehensive exam will include:
- Weight
- Temperature
- Body Condition
- Coat and Skin quality
- Cardiovascular function
- Respiratory function
- Teeth and Gum condition
- Eyes, Ears, Nose, and Throat
- Abdominal palpation to detect any abnormalities of intestine, kidney, liver, or spleen
- Lymphatic system
- Basic Neurological system
- Musculoskeletal system
- Behavior and socialization progress
A general blood panel is an additional tool available to evaluate the function of the
organs and systems mentioned above. Blood work is very important to gain a baseline for the pet
as well as detect any problems at an early stage.
