April 22 - UMFS Foster Parent Orientation - More than 1,400 children and teenagers in Southside Virginia are in foster care and need families. You can touch the life of an abused or neglected child or teenager by becoming a foster parent. UMFS will hold a free, no obligation information session for prospective foster parents on Thursday, April 22, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the UMFS South Central Regional Center at 100 North Carter Street in La Crosse. Agency representatives and foster parents will be on hand to answer questions and explain the requirements to foster or adopt. Participants must register in advance.
