Which key is "any key?" (as seen in "press any key")

Unable to receive or send e-mail?

Ensure your Outgoing SMTP Server and Incoming POP3 is kerrlake.com

Internet Explorer 4.0 & 5.0
1. Open up Outlook Express
2. Select TOOLS (Located at the top of Outlook Express.)
3. Select ACCOUNTS
4. Click on MAIL tab
5. Click once on "kerrlake.com", then select PROPERTIES (on the right).
6. Click one SERVER tab.
7. Change the Outgoing SMTP Server to mail.kerrlake.com
8. Change the Incoming POP3 Server to mail.kerrlake.com
9. Press APPLY and then OK.
10. Press CLOSE to close Accounts Dialogue Box.


Internet Explorer 3.0

1. Open up your E-Mail Client
2. Select MAIL (located at the top of your E-Mail Client)
3. Select OPTIONS
4. Click on the SERVER tab
5. Change the OUTGOING SMTP SERVER to mail.kerrlake.com
6. Change the INCOMING POP3 SERVER to mail.kerrlake.com
7. Press APPLY at the bottom of the OPTIONS dialogue box.
8. Press OK
9. Then try to send or receive your e-mail.


Netscape Communicator 4.0+

1. Open up Communicator
2. Select EDIT at the top of your Communicator.
3. Select PREFERENCES.
4. Click on the + next to Mail & Newsgroups.
5. Click on MAIL Servers.
6. Change Outgoing SMTP Server to mail.kerrlake.com.
7. Change Incoming POP3 Server to mail.kerrlake.com.
8. Click OK to finish.


Netscape Navigator 3.0

1. Open up your E-Mail Client
2. Select OPTIONS at the top of your E-Mail Client
3. Select Mail and News Preferences
4. Select the SERVER tab
5. Change the OUTGOING SMTP SERVER to mail.kerrlake.com
6. Change the INCOMING POP3 SERVER to mail.kerrlake.com
7. Press OK
8. Then try to send or receive your e-mail.

Changing your Secondary DNS


Your Primary and Secondary DNS should read "Server Assign Name Server Addresses". However if you feel the need to change these, follow the below instructions.

Windows 95 & 98

1. Select My Computer
2. Dial up Networking
3. Highlight the icon for Mercury Network Corporation then select FILE and then PROPERTIES.
4. Next select the tab that specifies Server Types and select the button titled TCI/IP Settings. (If you don't have this tab then locate the button that says TCP/IP Settings.)
5. Go to the Primary & Secondary/Alternate DNS and remove the numbers that are there and replace them with the following (don't forget to put in the . (periods)).

Primary: 205.171.3.65
Secondary: 205.171.2.65

6. Select Okay and keep selecting okay until you get back to Dial up networking dialogue box. Then close Dialup Networking and My Computer.

Windows 3.1

1. Bring up your dialer (connect to box)
2. Select Properties at the bottom.
3. Select the TCP/IP Settings tab.
4. Delete what is in the Secondary DNS box and replace with the following:

Primary: 205.171.3.65
Secondary: 205.171.2.65

5. Select Ok
6. Close Dialer/Connect to Box
7. Save changes to the connection and dial settings by select "yes".

MAC and OS users

You also need to change your Secondary/Alternate DNS settings to the following:

Primary: 205.171.3.65
Secondary: 205.171.2.65

Changing/Adding New Phone Number

If you want to change the phone number permanently in your current "Connect To" dialogue box follow the below:
  1. go into "My Computer", then open up "Dial Up Networking",
  2. next click once on the icon for Mercury Network Corporation to highlight it,
  3. then select "file" and then "properties",
  4. change the phone number to be dial and then select "Ok".

To create a New Connection so that you have both numbers set to dial follow the below.
  1. go into "My Computer", then open up "Dial Up Networking",
  2. select "Make New Connection" by doubling left clicking,
  3. name the icon LCO 738-0096, press next,
  4. type in the new phone number, press next,
  5. then press finish, this will create a new icon for our new line,
  6. next you need to check the properties within this connect,
  7. click once on the new icon to highlight it, select "file",
  8. then select "properties",
  9. then select the "server type" tab, and make sure that only "enable software compression" is checked in the first section, and only "TCP/IP" in the second section,
  10. once this is done, select "Ok",
  11. your next step is to create a short cut to this "new connect to icon" on your desk top,
  12. click once on the icon to highlight it,
  13. select "file",
  14. then "create shortcut". Say yes to create shortcut on your desktop.
