I know that I'm a little biased, but I LOVE my Mooney. It's the perfect plane for the type of flying I do -- long trips. It's extremely fuel efficient. I've quoted the specs, but my actual fuel usage is about 7.5 gal/hr at 55% power and 145 knots true.
On the Angel Flights, Air Life Line or Young Eagle missions, I put 2 or 3 passengers in with little trouble. The cabin isn't as small as some people think. When I'm alone, I carry lots of stuff, my bike, camping gear, etc.
It's really a GREAT utility airplane that gets me there FAST and economically.
