About Your Guide
I have been involved in the sport of bass fishing for the last 30 years. I began by learning from the best when I started fishing with a bass guide on Lake Anna by the name of Bill Mathias. Bill, who taught me the basics of bass fishing, was way ahead of his time back in the early 1980s, and every time a new technique came around, Bill was already doing it. I fished with a BASS Federation club for several years and have fished with many different and excellent anglers through the years. I've also fished many different waters with many different guides, both good and bad. A few years back I had the opportunity to move to one of my favorite bodies of water, Kerr Lake. Since I have been there, I have spent many months fishing and learning the many facets of Kerr Lake. On days when the water levels were down, I have spent hours just riding the lake to find those special areas that attract game fish, and while doing this I have also spent a lot of time finding out the best baits and patterns that work on Kerr Lake. I am in business to pass on the things I have learned to you, the angler. Not only will I put you where the fish are, but I will also teach you how and where to use lures and techniques that you may have only read about. What's New! April 2012 - Well I finally have gotten around to updating my website and hoping for a great 2012. I will make it a point to update at least yearly if not more. Some happenings over the last couple years have been the discovery of the Largemouth bass virus in Kerr Lake. However it appears as if the peak of this disease that affects mostly larger fish is over (the virus attacks there swim bladder and then the immune system). Catches and average sizes have been on a dramatic increase over the last year. I have also had some equipment upgrades such as the addition of a Ranger Z-520 with a 250 HP Yamaha HPDI and Humminbird Electronics. Also I have switched over to the new Lews products that myself as well as my customers will be using while fishing. I am very impressed with the Lews line of products and they are also sold at Bobcats Bait and Tackle which is the best tackle store on Kerr Lake. Striper fishing is still as exciting as ever in the fall and winter months of the year and if you want a truly amazing trip of a lifetime give me a call. I do apologize for the increase in my prices but like with every other business the price of gas has forced me to increase my prices also. This is the first price increase in 4 years I have made. Thanks for your interest and lets go fishing! - Tim Equipment
