June 8 - 6th Annual BBQ Dinner 5:00 - 7:00 PM A kickoff block party for the annual Bike show. There will be a BBQ dinner, Boston Butt sale, music and drinks. Chase City Pavilion. More information contact the Chase City Chamber of Commerce at 434-372-0379.

June 9-10 - South Central Bike Fest taking place at the fire training grounds on 534 Jonbil Rd. in Chase City, as we raise money to assist area cancer patients. It's a weekend of camping, bands, DJs, cruise-in, bike show, poker run, bike rodeo, fireworks, bikini bike wash and more. It's not just another bike fest. We will kick off Thursday evening at 5PM with a BBQ supper & DJ, then Friday at noon with a 2 hour and 4 hour historic ride (southern style) followed by DJs - Brad & Wildthang, The Konnection Band and ending with fireworks dedicated to fallen bikers and veterans. On Saturday the morning begins at 9AM with the poker run and tons of other events and entertainment by SUNDHOUSE DJ Services, C.J. Ballard Band & Tuesday's Gone to finish up the evening. We have an ADULT ONLY Camp Ground and a Family Friendly Camp Ground. Kids under 18 are not allowed in the venue after 6 PM. They can be in the family friendly campground. We have some fantastic country roadways and many historic stops for your riding pleasure. Early entry at 3 PM on Thursday, all bikes/campers out by Noon Sunday.

June 16 & 17 - The Acclaimed Musical That Long Tobacco Road By North Carolina Playwright/Director Charley-John Smith Returns To Stage In Henderson, N.C., for two performances. Written and directed by regional Playwright Charley-John Smith, That Long Tobacco Road is making its way back to the stage after first being presented by the Louisburg (N.C.) College Players in 2001. Performed by local actors from Vance, Granville, Franklin and Wake counties, the 2017 musical will debut on the stage of McGregor Hall Performing Arts and Learning Center in downtown Henderson, N.C., on June 16th and 17th at 8 p.m. each evening.

September 8 & 9 - Annual Fall BBQ Chicken Dinner and Dog Field Trial – Palmer Springs Volunteer Fire Department will hold its Annual Fall BBQ Chicken Dinner on Friday, September 8 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. Dine in or carry out plates consisting of BBQ Chicken, Boiled Potatoes, String Beans, Dessert & Tea will be available for $8 per plate. The Fox Hound Bench Show follows dinner at 7:30. At Daylight on Saturday, September 9, the Hounds will be cast. Breakfast (beginning at 5 am) and lunch (beginning at 11 am) will be available during the Hunt and Awards/Trophies will be presented mid afternoon. The Palmer Springs Field Trial is a HGA hunt with 10 Places each Class – Derby & All Age. The Bench Show has Derby Male/Female, All Age Male/Female and Childs Handling. Registration has begun and can be completed by calling Tommy Clark at 434-689-3037 prior to 10 pm daily. Entry fee is $25 per dog.
